Palace of Versailles - Paris


Palace of Versailles (aka Chateau de Versailles) is a huge palace compound which is build since 1664. It comprise of the French garden, the Grand Palace, Trianon Palaces and Marie-Antoinette's hamlet.  

I would advise you to buy your tickets at its website and print out the electronic ticket so as to save time queuing to buy tickets. When you reach the palace, head straight for entrance A with your ticket  





















































































































































































Transport:   Versailles Chateau Rive Gauche RER C, 1hr from Paris city center

Walk to the Palace of Versailles  (10 mins)

*€3.25 for one way RER ticket, Versailles is outside zone 3, cannot use Paris metro ticket


Cost:      €18, passport

Hours:   Palace of Versailles: 9am to 6:30pm

Grand Apartments of the King and Queen, hall of Mirrors, Chapel (visible from the vestibule of the Chapel), Louis XIV Rooms, gallery of Battles, apartments of Mesdames, Palace History gallery

Trianon palaces and Marie-Antoinette's hamlet:  noon to 6:30pm

Grand Trianon, Petit Trianon, gardens, Chapel, French Pavilion, Queen’s Theatre (from the vestibule), Temple of Love, Grotto, English Garden, Dairy, Queen’s Hamlet.

French gardens: 8am to 8:30pm

The park is open from 7am to 8:30pm    


Due to crowding from 10am to 3pm, especially on weekends and Tuesdays, we advise you to visit the Grand Apartments either at 9am or after 3pm in order to get more enjoyment out of visiting the Hall of Mirrors and these exceptional spaces. Think about going to the Trianon palaces and Marie-Antoinette's hamlet at noon to discover a more rustic and intimate aspect of Versailles.
