Kin Wah Kedai Makan 锦华餐室 (Johor baru)

Kin Wah Kedai Makan 锦华餐室

Located at the corner street of Jalan Trus, this shop can be spotted with the big Chinese style gate. This shop served authentic chinese breakfast such as half boiled egg and toast. It is especially crowded during weekend and hard to find seats too. During sunday or public holiday, the crowd can last from morning till lunch time.

The eggs used for half boiled egg are all organic. The chicken used are kampong chicken, no chemical use to inject into these chicken, as per the boss. Hence, i think it is more healthy this way. The eggs are fresher and somewhat taste better

Have some old school Kopi or teh C to go along with your breakfast

Kaya toast - The toast are done by the boss himself. Toast are spread with kaya and a piece of margarine, yummmy...

Nonya Laksa (RM 5) - You can choose the type of noodle that you want. The owner give a generous ingredients such as egg, sliced fish cake, fishball and a whole piece of tau pok.Very spicy and coconutty, a must to try when you are here.

Opening hour: 7am till afternoon

Verdict: 3.5 / 5

Nice place to have your breakfast especially if you miss the old school taste. Here is definitely a must to come and experience it yourself. I like the food here and the crowd, remind me when i am young. Whats more, the the price is cheap too.

To-gather Cafe - Bedok

To-gather Cafe

I was around the vicinity during the last public holiday, since bedok is famous for the bak chor mee hence i decide to eat it again. Due to the long queue, I u-turn back and drop here to try on this cafe. The cafe is packed and there is a waiting list, hence i left my contact number and went for a stroll nearby.

When i was shown to my seat, the cafe is still full. You will have to make your order at the counter and pay your bill right after ordering. Nets and Credit card payment are available

Different cakes for selection. Chocolate lava cake is their best seller while the matcha lava cake is limited quantity

Caller, but it is actually table number. Guess they will use it when they are short handed

Simple menu

Mocha ($4.50) - Lots and lots of foam on the top of the mocha. I wont say this is one of the best i had but still ok, only that i dislike the too generous amount of foam that was on the top.

Seafood Aglio Olio ($8.90) - I am bewildered by the amount of seafood that was served with the spaghetti. There are squid, salmon and prawns in this dish. Abit spicy but still delicious. I really recommended this dish if you drop by.

Grilled Pandan Chicken ($8.90) - Unique pandan flavour, i can only savour this taste at the bottom of the grilled chicken, guess it was the sauce that give this pandan taste. Overall, still taste not bad.

Matcha Lava Cake with Ice Cream ($6.90) - The cake is soft and mist, matcha flow out once you cut the cake. Vanilla ice cream taste good when you eat the the matcha cake. Recommended to try. But if this is not available, you can try their best seller which is the chocolate lava cake.

Can you see the matcha flowing out at the middle section of the cake?? Yummy

Tel: 65 6445 1011

Verdict: 4/5
Price: $8.9 onwards

I like this place very much. Cheap food with good service, only negative area is that the seats are limited. Beside this, they also provide reservation service, you can leave you contact number and they will call you once the seats are available.

I love the matcha lava cake. This dessert is newly launched i guess as the quantity are limited. The other best seller is the chocolate lava cake. You can try it too. The ice cream taste good and should eat with the warm cake together to give you a warm and cold sensation.

The other most worth waiting dish is the seafood Aglio Olio. Alots of ingredients are added in with such a cheap price. Waiting time for this dish is a bit long, but i guess it is really worth it.

Little Pancakes - Upper Thomson Road

Little Pancakes

Little Pancakes is located at Thomson Imperial Court which is along the stretch of Upper Thomson road with stretches of cafes on both sides. It is directly opposite to the previous Long House Food Center.

New Zealand Natural ice cream counter

New items on the menu - waffles

Cafe Mocha($4) - tasty mocha with a pretty tea spoon!! haha

Big Fan of All Day Breakfast ($10.90) - Petite fluffy little pancakes made on the spot upon ordering. Goes well with the honey syrup. Nothing unusual with this big breakfast set: creamy scrambled eggs, glazed mini sausages, potato salad and greens.

Mr Beans Turns Red ($8.50) - Azuki red beans and green tea ice cream with hints of matcha powder scattered on plate. Azuki beans was soft and done just right not too sweet. However it would be better if the serving of the red beans and green tea ice cream could be more generous to compliment the 10 mini pancakes. Recommeded dish.

Rating: 3.5/5
Price: $10+

Little pancakes is a good dessert cafe which offer a wide range of sweet and savoury pancakes. What's more, there is new addition of waffle to satisfy the waffle lovers out there. This place is not recommeded if you are looking for a weekend brunch cafe to fill your hungry stomach. There is alot of brunch cafe along the whole stretch of upper thomson, so do drop by Little pancakes for your dessert. Come early especially on weekends as this small cafe is filled up with people very quickly.
