5 days 4 night in Bangkok, Khao Yai (Thailand) with Kids

Bangkok has always been a good place for shopping since I was a teenager. Since my last visit to this country was over 10 years ago, I am not too sure how the kids will take it as there are a lot of walking. My wife and I tried our best to ensure that the kids don’t get too bored. Ultimately, I think we all enjoyed the day trip at Khao Yai. Here are our 5 days Bangkok itinerary with our kids.

Day 1: CentralWorld shopping complex

Day 2: Siam Paragon, Siam Discovery, Icon Siam

Day 3: Khao Yai

Day 4: Platinum Fashion Mall, Big C, Terminal 21, Jodd’s fair night market

Day 5: MBK

Day 1:

We arrived early at Changi Airport for check in and at the same time took some photos for the kids. They were especially excited about the Wonderfall - the terminal multimedia wall.

We also took some photos after passing the immigration gates at their immersive garden.

After reaching Suvarnabhumi Airport and checked in to our hotel, it was about 6pm already. We took a Tuk Tuk and had our dinner at centralworld. Took a queue number at Kub Kao Kub Pla, waiting time about 30mins which is still not too bad consider it dinner peak hour. The food and service are good, the kids loved it too.

After dinner, we went to After You Dessert Cafe for their Shibuya toast. Who can resist their toast right?

Day 2:

It’s shopping day at various shopping centre. For breakfast, we had bagels at The New Yolk Bagel Experience.

After which, shopping time!!

Day 3:

I brought this package at Klook which consist of a private transport which will take you to your destinations. You can choose the number of days for this package and inform the driver your desired destinations on the actual day. The driver will pick you at your hotel early morning as the journey from BKK to Khao Yai takes about 3 hours. The driver will give you some recommendation and their suggestions too. I booked a day trip to the different places and the kids love it, especially the interaction with the animals. They totally exhausted themselves at the end of the day. Here are some of the photos.

Day 4:

We are back to shopping again. Head to Big C to purchase travel gifts like food or souvenirs. Medical items like medicine are cheap too. We dropped by terminal 21 mall before going to jodd’s fair.

Day 5:

We went to MBK and lunch before departing to the airport.

Overall, I think the trip was good, although there were quite a lot of emotion breakdowns with the walking and humid weather. Transportation like Tuk Tuk really save us from a lot of walking too, plus the kids love them. Day 3 trip to Khao Yai was really enjoyable, highly recommended.

Tha Chang Noodle Bar

Serving Thai cuisine, Tha Chang Noodle Bar is the new player in town. Opening their new outlet at Telok Ayer, they offer a wide range of thai food to worker at the CBD area.

Boiled Cockle with special sauce ($15.90)

The size is particularly larger than the ones you can find in hawker centre or markets. The cockles are fresh and dipped in their special chili sauce, they just make me want to have more.

Creamy Omelette Basil Pork ($15)

If you really love egg, you definitely need to try their Omelette Basil Pork rice. The egg are very creamy and smooth. I like this quite a lot. Highly recommended.

Special Pork Boat Noodle ($10.90)

Dry version

You get to choose either the soup or dry version. The soup taste robust and full of flavours while the dry version is not bad as well. You can also select the type of noodle and the spicy level that you like.

Thai Milk Tea ($4.30)

How can you go without ordering a Thai milk tea? The price is slightly steep but still taste smooth and good.

Verdict: 4/5

A good place to chill and have your meal here. Especially if you crave for a good Thai food place.
